Workshop: Construct your own Solar Oven – COOKING WITH THE SUN 

Through this event, we learned an alternative way to cook. We had a workshop with Mr Andreas Fasoulides, the founder of a kind of solar oven in Cyprus.

Solar is a clean, renewable energy source, which decreases deforestation, fossil fuel usage, and greenhouse gas emissions. Solar ovens are devices that collect energy from sunlight to focus the heat and cook food without other fuel sources. Solar ovens enable affordable off-the-grid cooking. They are also a sustainable option for cooking in isolated communities and rural areas.

The solar oven uses the sun and you can make anything you want with a little more time without electricity. We learned how basic age is for the protection of the environment but also how useful it can be. Many tourists and residents of the village were interested in its use. The event took place at Vrakas Taverna in Pissouri on June 17, 2023.
